Whether you meet College/University Reps at a college fair or on a campus visit, you can ask the following questions to help start a good dialogue:
1. What do I need to do to complete your college admissions process?
2. Are there specific admission requirements and how can I prepare for my major?
3. Do extra-curricular or work activities count in the admissions decision?
4. What happens if I want to change my major after I've been admitted?
5. Are there internships or work experience opportunities in my major?
6. Is there job placement help for current students and/or graduates?
7. What is the cost for one year? What types of financial aid are available?
8. Are academic or athletic scholarships available, if so what are the criteria?
9. What intercollegiate sports do you offer? What division is your school?
10. Is the location of the school rural, urban, or suburban?
11. What's the surrounding area like? Is it easy to get around?
12. Is housing available on campus for transfer students? What are the housing options?
13. Do most transfer students live off campus?
14. Are you allowed to have a car on campus? How much does parking cost?
15. How would you describe the academic pressure and workload?
16.What support services are available (academic advisers, tutors, etc.)?
17. How accessible are advisors and faculty outside of class?
