TIBETAN MONKS TO CREATE WORLD PEACE SAND MANDALA AT Cuesta College August 28 – August 31

On August 28 the Cuesta College community  welcomes a group of exiled Tibetan monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery of Mungrod, South India to Cuesta College.  The monks will create a sacred sand mandala over four days, August 28 - 31, at Cuesta College in the Lobby of the Cultural and Performing Arts Centre on the San Luis Obispo campus. Construction of the mandala will commence with opening ceremonies at 10:00am on Monday, August 28. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Lobby will be open for viewing progress on the mandala each day from 9:00 – 11:00 am and noon - 3pm. The events of the week are free and open to the public, but there is a parking fee of $2 per day on campus.

inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that

the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with
