FW: Community Resource and Civic Engagement Fair Promo

On Wednesday, January 30 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm the SLO campus we will be hosting the first ever Community Resource Fair in front of the Student Success Center. The fair will introduce students to the many FREE services that are available from organizations in our community. The Food Bank, Community Counseling Center, Stand Strong, Bank of America, and GALA are just a few of the many organizations that will be on campus and prepared to share information with students.  Student Clubs will also be in attendance so that students can find out how to get involved on campus! FREE Lunch will be provided.

 

The same event is scheduled the following day, Thursday, January 31 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the North County Campus and will take place in front of the Schwartz Learning Resource Center. Lunch will be provided for students in the form of a $5 gift voucher to use the day of the event.

The Cuesta Culture Center, Library & English Department will be hosting an African American literature &
poetry reading in recognition of Black History Month in February.

Please join us and share the words of your favorite African American author or simply come to listen & eat
snacks. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enter a drawing for a free book!

 

All readings must be fine minutes or less and selected passage are limited to those written by African American
